Northern Territory acts Gurrumul Yunupingu (pictured) and Jessica Mauboy Iwantja DEADLYS stormed the 17th, held last week at the Sydney Opera House. About to embark on a tour of Europe, Yunupingu picked up the male artist and best album awards for Rrakala (this was after he took five at the National Indigenous Music Awards in August in Darwin). Mauboy got best female, and picked up Iwantja promising new talent. Another moment came when Darwin NT singer songwriter Shellie Morris proceedin opened. . .
