Dinah Lee – Don’t You Know Yockomo


We were lucky enough to have Dinah Lee perform at our recent “Best of Aussie Rock” concert held on campus at the Australian Institute of Music. Here she performs her international number 1 Don’t You Know Yockomo. The Dinah Lee legend started in New Zealand in 1964 with a number 1 smash hit Nationally in Australia and her home country New Zealand with the song ‘Don’t You Know Yockomo followed by another number 1 hit in both countries with Reet Petite. Do The Bluebeat a Jamican Ska song was also a national number 1 in New Zealand for Dinah. Dinah Lee has 3 National Number 1 hits in Australia and 14 top ten singles plus 8 Albums culminating with her latest recording ‘Islands’ a special 8 track CD/Album. The opening track (a duet) of this new CD is titled ‘Islands’ and Dinah has a special guest on this track Rikki James a very talented young Maori singer from New Zealand. With recordings in England produced by Chris Blackwell the owner of Islands Records to David Mackay, Johnny Young and the producers of ‘Islands’ Clive Lendich and Doug Jansen ,Dinah continues to work the best. 2010 sees Dinah in the studio with an exciting new single with Vocals recorded at Studio 301 Sydney Australia….a Rock/Reggae track produced by TFM , with a release guaranteed for at least 33 countries Dinah is well and truly again in the International Market Place .
